Two distinctives that separate Stoa from many other Speech and Debate leagues is our focus on Christians and homeschoolers. We seek to build speaking and debating skills into each Stoa student for a unique purpose—to change the world for Christ. It is impossible to accomplish this without a reliance on God and a display of integrity. Integrity is often thought of as doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. When someone has integrity, it means they align their heart with their actions. As Christians, we are not called to simply embrace human integrity, but also to take on Biblical integrity. Biblical integrity aligns our hearts and actions with the glory and character of God. God is looking for men and women who delight themselves in Him and His character and whose hearts and actions align with what He delights in (Psalm 37:4). A person of integrity will align their hearts (thoughts, desires, and commitments) with their actions and the word of God. I believe Mike Huckabee was right when he asserted that people with integrity could revolutionize America. As Stoa members, we are seeking to do our part to train up the next generation in integrity so that they will be ready to speak boldly and change the world for Christ.
For His glory,
Angela Childress, Stoa Executive Director
