June 29 – July 2 at Mount Sequoyah Retreat and Conference Center

150 N. Skyline Dr.

Fayetteville, AR 72701

Our annual Stoa Family Academy, where we meet together for equipping and fellowship, has a whole new vibe this year! For the first time ever, students are invited to attend. We will offer classes for both novice and experienced competitors. Parent and coach sessions are receiving a major overhaul and updating.

Best of all, we will be housed together in one beautiful location at the Mt Sequoyah Retreat and Conference Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. We will have on-site, dorm-style housing for students attending the event and hotel-style housing for parents and coaches. This facility will allow us to spend time learning during the day and fellowshipping in the evenings.

Three basic tracks will be offered:

  1. Adults: There will be general sessions for the weekend and conference-style classes offered all day on Friday and Saturday.
  2. Student Track 1: Introduction to Stoa Speech and Debate for new students and/or for junior-level students (below age 12) coming up to senior level (ages 12-18) for the 2023-2024 competition year. Students will have one full day of introduction to Stoa speech events and one full day of introduction to all three Stoa debate forms.
  3. Student Track 2: Experienced students can select from a variety of speech and debate classes for many skill levels offered on Friday and Saturday.

Schedule:

Thursday PM: Check in and get settled for the weekend

Friday: All day classes and evening social event

Saturday: All day classes and evening social event

Sunday morning: Church service at Mt. Sequoyah’s beautiful outdoor chapel for our Stoa family to worship together
